Q:
Is the Verified (Live) requirement waived for 2025?
A:

No.
For the CLE reporting period ending June 30 annually, three of the required credits for active licensed paralegal practitioners must be Verified CLE, which may include any combination of In-person CLE, Remote Group CLE, or Verified e-CLE. The remaining three hours of CLE may include Elective CLE or Verified CLE.

Q:
What are the credit requirements for the annual MCLE cycle?
A:

Each licensed paralegal practitioner in Utah must complete, during each Compliance Cycle, a minimum of 6 hours of Accredited CLE, as follows: At least 3 hours of the CLE must be Verified (live) CLE, which may include any combination of In-person CLE, Remote Group CLE, or Verified E-CLE; the remaining 3 hours of CLE may include Elective (self-study) CLE or Verified (live) CLE. The 6 hours of CLE must include a minimum of 1 hour of Ethics CLE and 1 hour of Professionalism and Civility CLE.

When do I need to comply?
A:

On or before July 31 annually, each licensed paralegal practitioner subject to MCLE requirements must file a Certificate of Compliance with the Board, appropriately evidencing the licensed paralegal practitioner’s completion of Accredited CLE ending the preceding June 30 deadline.

Q:
Do I qualify for a Comity Certificate?
A:

No. Licensed paralegal practitioners do not qualify to use a Comity Certificate.

Q:
Can my credits from another jurisdiction count in Utah?
A:

No. Licensed paralegal practitioners do not qualify to use credits from another jurisdiction.
