All Lawyers and Paralegal Practitioners on active status are required to comply with the annual CLE reporting period. The current CLE reporting period is July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023. Active Status Lawyers: All active status lawyers in Utah must complete, during each Annual Compliance Cycle, a minimum of 12 hours of accredited CLE to include 1 hour of legal ethics and 1 hour of professionalism and civility. At least 6 hours must be live CLE, which may include any combination of In-person CLE, Remote Group CLE, or Verified E-CLE. The remaining 6 hours may include Self-study or Live CLE. Active Status Paralegal Practitioners: All active status paralegal practitioners in Utah must complete, during each Annual Compliance Cycle, a minimum of 6 hours of accredited CLE to include 1 hour of legal ethics and 1 hour of professionalism and civility. At least 3 hours must be Live CLE, which may include any combination of In-person CLE, Remote Group CLE, or Verified E-CLE. The remaining 3 hours may include Self-study CLE or Live CLE. Active status Lawyers and Paralegal Practitioners who fail to complete the CLE requirement by the June 30, 2023 deadline, or fails to file the Certificate of Compliance and required $10.00 filing fee by the July 31, 2023 deadline, will be assessed a $100.00 late fee.
